An acoustic screen for a generator set in an urban environment in the ICT industry

Acoustic challenge
In the context of the Information and Communications Technology Industry, we were faced with the challenge of soundproofing a generator set located on the roof, in the middle of the city centre. The main challenge was to efficiently contain the noise generated by the equipment and to ensure a respectful sound environment.

Strategic approach
The strategic approach was to attenuate the noise by means of a canopy that, in addition to its aesthetic function, would effectively contribute to reducing the propagation of sound. We also considered integrating the solution with the external elements.

Technical solution
The technical solution took the form of an acoustic screen, the design of which took into account the 45-degree inclination of the canopy. The design of the screen required meticulous attention to detail, with precise recesses and finishes being required to achieve effective noise containment. Baked painted panels were used, in a RAL colour selected by the project management.

Results
The implementation of the acoustic screen for the generator set provided a sound environment that respected the surrounding urban area. The meticulous attention to detail took into account the aesthetics and integration with the other existing elements, thus ensuring the harmony and functionality of the proposed solution.
